8/4/2015 Reeperbahn Festival 2015

The streets of Hamburg, Germany will be bursting with the sight of art and the

sound of music at Reeperbahn Festival 10th edition - September 23rd to 26th,

2015.

Reeperbahn Festival is a vibrant showcase of visual art, live performances, awards, and

educational sessions on the business of music. The main draw of Reeperbahn Festival is its

music component, with highlights including an independent label market during the full

three-day networking conference. There will be representatives from all angles of the music

industry in attendance, including SynchAudio, a music licensing and synchronization

company. SynchAudio will proudly be presenting Mary Ramos, an award-winning music

supervisor who has worked on films by Quentin Tarantino. In an interview she will share

inside stories from Hollywood and offer insights into her work.

Reeperbahn will host a long-list of talented performers, with noteable names such as:

Norwegian electro-pop artist AURORA, British grunge act Demob Hippy, Australian

singer-songwriter Hein Cooper, and from the USA, Mikky Ekko, writer/producer of

Rihanna’s "Stay." This year “band posters” are a major theme of Reeperbahn’s

extensive art exhibitions. The display will include authentic Pearl Jam posters from

the ‘90s onwards at showings titled "The Poster Printed Will Remind Me" and "The Flat

Stock Europe Poster Convention", with limited edition screen prints from various artists.

Also don’t miss "Reeper Reeper 3," where six engaging students will be exhibiting their

work under the theme “monotonous.” Finally, instrument-maker Tintin Patrone and

members of the International MusicMotorcycleClub will be presenting a herd of decked-out,

and souped-up sound machines in vehicles they’ve outfitted to carry noise, not cargo.

Apart from these interesting displays, the topic of “Sync” is going to be a major highlight

of the festival.

Sync sessions will include:

- Brands On Music: You’ll discover the answer to how music is a core nutrient in the

strategic marketing mix. Hosted by Ralph Simon, CEO & Founder of The Mobilium

Advisory Group; Mobile Entertainment Forum - Americas, United Kingdom.

- Music, Brands and Advertising: Music is sought after because it makes advertising

more effective, and it’s vital to building long-term brand strategies. The speaker is

Daniel Müllensiefen, Senior Lecturer Department of Psychology, Goldsmiths,

University of London, United Kingdom.

- Fashion And Trends In Sync: Content Is King Again: Find out how agencies choose

between composing original music, finding an already existing song that fits or doing

a cover? Moderated by Andreas Gutjahr, Country Manager, KnowTheirName, the music

branding agency, Germany.

- Go West, Go Hollywood: This session focuses on the geographic importance of

Hollywood and LA in the sync market, and tells you why placing music in a movie trailer

is a great move for your career. Moderated by Vikram Gudi, Founder, CEO, Elephant

Music, United Kingdom.

- How Indies Can be Successful In Sync Licensing: If you’re an independent artist trying

to dip into the ocean of sync, this is a great panel to help you navigate. Topics will include

the digital marketplace, legal issues, and how to create the personal relationships that

will help you in business. Speaking will be Juliane Darr, Licensing Manager, Budde Music,

Germany.

- Workshop for Creative: This workshop covers using music in ad clips. You’ll also learn

about clearing and licensing, how to secure appropriate tracks. This workshop is led by

Markus Linde, Owner, Managing Director, Thag's Agent - music for ads & film, Germany

and Dagmar Schwengler, Director Sync & Licensing Germany, BMG Rights Management

GmbH, Germany.

- Finally, a networking session by A2IM and VUT will allow all members of these illustrious

associations to exchange opinions under the banner of “Independent Music Business

Worldwide”.
