5/13/2016 CMW 2016

Once again SynchAudio was at the top of its game at another prestigious global

music conference and music market. This time it was Canadian Music Week 2016,

now in its third decade as one of the world’s leading indie music festivals and

industry conferences held in Toronto. CMW for SynchAudio’s CEO, Farinoush

Mostaghimi, is the perfect staging event, Noush comments: “I take my attendance

at CMW seriously. Not just because it is held in my home city of Toronto, but

because it draws colleagues from around the world, many whom I will see in June

in Cannes at MIDEM. CMW fits well into my market strategy for SynchAudio.”

SynchAudio was front and centre at CMW2016, as it presented itself to the many

music industry players attending from around the world. From its prominently

SynchAudio staffers Roman Riccio and Karina Wipper, welcomed independent artists,

These days at any international music industry conference, participants can’t escape

the multitude of panels and keynotes that attempt to dig deep into the challenges

that face the music business. With its array of scheduled panels and presentations,

CMW is no exception. Speakers delve into such topics as digital disruption, inequity

of royalties, rights management, licensing, new business models, or finding economic

solutions in new technology. One of the latter discussed includes blockchain, as

proposed by Don and Alex Tapscott in their new book Blockchain Revolution.

SynchAudio was pleased to host a lunch for members of the Guild of Music

Supervisors following their participation in the CMW SYNCSUMMIT. The

denouement of the whole week couldn’t have been any better for SynchAudio

and Noush, as she closed out a very successful CMW2016 with a quiet and informal

breakfast in conversation with the renowned producer Tony Visconti (Bowie, Holy

Holy, Moody Blues) and CMW’s Gary Taylor.
