1/1/2017 SYNCHAUDIO 2016 YEAR END ROUND UP

_________________________________________________________________

MAY YOU LIVE IN INTERESTING TIMES

An English expression that is purported to have been appropriated from an old Chinese curse

wishes the receiver: “May you live in interesting times.” Whatever the source, no year in recent

memory may be more deserving of adopting this expression as its theme than 2016. And as

this year’s narrative approaches its denouement, the dramas of sadness, excitement, possibility

and conflict continue to unfold, seemingly until the very end of this provocative year. While the

world spins, rocks, shakes, rattles and goes boom, SynchAudio always takes this time to ponder

the journeys and adventures it has taken over the past year.

Anybody who has encountered us, played with us, or done business with us over the three

years since we launched SynchAudio, knows we are passionate about music and those who

create and perform this art form. We strongly believe that no other art form brings more light to

an often bleak and dark time in our world than music. It is our view that those who create and

share their music with the world are purveyors of joy and should be treasured. And we consider

the music creators we represent to be in that light.

SynchAudio is a Toronto based creative boutique agency that provides one-stop, full service

licensing representation for the use of music and media in all screen based storytelling

platforms. We are a creative team of passionate, lovers of music who are dedicated to the

independent composers, songwriters and recording artists we represent. Inside the

SynchAudio tent we all sit around the fire of creativity: composers, artists, music

supervisors, editors and creative business. We learn, we teach, we share.

MILLENIALS MEET THE GENERATION Z

Sometimes it is hard to believe that we are now sixteen years into the new millennium.

But there is nothing like considering how much technology has changed the world and our

lives in those few years, to sober the mind. Just think, the generation millennials or

Generation Y (born 1982 – 1996) are the pioneers of the internet, and as they grew the

world profoundly changed with them. Almost everything previous generations experienced

became disrupted during the millennial’s formative years.

As we know the millennials are the most studied generation ever, with every marketer and

sociologist performing data mining and behavioral digs to understand their core values.

However, demographers and marketers tell us we have not seen anything yet as we are

now seeing the rise of the Generation Z (Born 1995 –2014). This entire generation has

grown entirely and immersively in a digital and internet world. Yes we live in interesting

times and the Generation Z promises, along with a radically different political landscape,

that the times beginning with 2017 are going to get even more interesting.

SynchAudio has its hand firmly on the wheel and its seat belt tightened and is ready for a

new year of more adventures and excitement as it continues its journey in the wonderful

world of music. We at SynchAudio welcome all creators of great music from all generations,

cultures and corners of our global village.
